Along with the Pop Group and Rip Rig & Panic, Pigbag was a brilliant U.K. underground group who created a unique fusion of funk, disco, and post-punk that drew on the diverse, groove-oriented music of Can, Fela Kuti, Miles Davis, and James Brown. The rest of "Dr. Heckle and Mr. Jive" (strangely there was a hit single by Australian pop band Men at Work with that title around the same time) is merely a less interesting repetition of the hit single without the hook that made it easy to listen to.
